It also looks like it may have been sent by pigion mail, as it took five days to get to the UK.

That must have been what the dogs were going crazy about, they must have chased him away.

pigeon, the dogs would love that... infact so would i, goes very nice as a starter.

Sorry... So, i hope that at 5:04 they were loaded on a truck to head to my house. I should have them for the weekend if anyone is coming down to dig for power.

Darren,

The slipso you have looks Ok, I didn't know about the hatch on the top, i don't know if that is a modification or if that is part of the cnc kits, il let you know when they turn up.

With the 4cell 2200 pack will the wing fit on as i know there is issues with the aileron servo interfearing with the pack.

The photo of the wing is good, that shows that we can get away with out having to dig out the wing to fit the servo horn, i like the pushrods as well, will have to copy some of those ideas.

Nice to know is similar to a tested design, il have to get one built and compare it to the VIP. think its going to be similar. When you get yours flying i would be interested in a flight report, see if there is anything that could be suggested to improve it. I'm sure that the pilots at the club will make some changes.

first picture is with the 4s in and second 3s, both batteries are pushed tight up to the leading edge former, both allow the wing to fit on, i have no instructions with mine, if someone could let me know what the c of g is i can temp fit the motor and s/c in to get a better idea of where the battery will sit and then youll know how much room youll have to play with, not a lot of room for the aileron servo, if the battery position ends up forward of the leading edge former then youll get room for your aileron servo

Phils idea is not a bad one, youve got the fizza or wizza havent you, memory serves me right they do the same method, its also used on one of the club 20 models, its a shame they have done a join at the wing centre, but id guess its been done to keep the package size smaller, cockpit canopy could be done using a plug and vac formed plastic, but the shape of the plane and a low rear deck dosent lend its self to a canopy,  perhaps glassing the wing may be a better option, shame as some people struggle with that, need any info on glassing just ask, the tailplane on mine has been laser cut so i presume its an original, how old i dont know or wether later models have been modified, mines got a carbon spar fitted, im guessing its a home made mod
I dont mind hacking this one around once i know the c of g

Last 2 pics taken of the american site, first showing the elevator servo fitted behind the t/e former,  last last one shows the hatch used at the front to get access to the motor and s/c, but dont know if thats an origanal slypso or one someone els has done.
cheers

Looking at the photos you can see that the 6mm strip that runs round the fuselage side top and bottom is missing from the battery bay area which gives considerably more room for inserting the battery. the plan dose show the strip running through the compartment. I intend running a thin strip of ply around this area for strength, without taking up the space.

Darren
Cof G is 30mm from the leading edge. the airframe was designed for 2s batteries with a speed 400 brushed motor, so I should think if you are putting a 3 or 4s battery in, it will need to be of a low capacity or placed well back to make the airframe balance.

Hi,

All the instructions, and also building suggestions can be found here.

This should help with CoG and the throws.

Update:

A letter hit the doorstep this morning and its a request for import Duty and Tax  :(.

It came to £35.75, this has now been paid and delivery arranged for Thursday 25th (tomorrow).

This will add £3.25 on to the price of each kit.

I should be able to bring them all down to the patch on Sunday for people to collect if they are about, a hand digging would also be great  :winky:

Phil,

The kits were £15.19 and the tax is £3.25 so the total will be £18.44 per kit.

Dave,
if you look back to page 11 of this thread you will find the data that I was able to gain from an initial run. The item missing is static thrust which I think on that setup will be just under 180 gms.
