Engine advice?

Did a favour for a good mate who had pc problems and for my efforts he gave me the following:
4 futaba servos
FP-S148 x 3
FP-S128 x 1
1 ASP 61 engine with pipe
Now he builds his own aircraft from his own plans and has vast experience of rc engines and has told the engine has had two hours run time and runs very well. I have read up on the engine on the net and they seem to have a lot of problems but he has assured me that this engine is ok and runs well but if I did have carb problems to get a OS 61 carb which is a direct fit.
Now having a Wot 4 to build this is the stuff he said will be ok for this size aircraft even though the engine will make the aircraft a little nose heavy and a little over powered? He said I would need to sit the engine as far back as poss to keep the cog happy?.
What do you guys think?

You could always put a little lead on the tail you will certainly have the power to pull it into the sky.

Well... I have an AcroWot with a Laser 70 and it's great fun (still my favourite flier, I may build another), I think the WOT4 with a piped 61 would be similar. However, CF advises that if more powerful engines are used, the following modifications are made:
1. Firewall moved back 1" to make space - I only moved mine back 3/4" and it was OK.
2. 1/32" ply internal doublers from F1 back to the wing T.E.
3. Glass tape and resis U/C reinforcement on the inside.
4. Metal clevises on the elevator
5. 1/4" x 1/8" spruce sub-spar in the tailplane.
I still needed about an ounce of tail weight.

Cheers guys.
Thanks Phil my only concern is that will I make the aircraft too heavy and effect handling?
Andy that all makes sence to me
This is my return to aircraft since I was 12 and I have a lot to learn so I will asking more question about your information posted Andy.

I reckon you'll be ok, the Wot 4 will carry the weight but you're right, it doesn't come for free as the stall speed will be raised and deadstick glides will be a little steeper.
I have an OS 46Fx you can have for £40 which is the perfect match for a Wot4, if you want to get used to the plane on a more suitable engine then move up to your hooligan-power 61 when you've got to grips with the plane.
