Me 109 seen again in the skies over Norway

Hi everyone,
Greetings from Norway. I had written a long report on the lack of flying due to the extraordinary winter we have experienced here but thanks to the bloody vagaries of the internet, I lost all the text and I can't be bothered repeating myself !
To cut a long story short:
- built a YT Me 109 - Mike H will recall the story about prising it out of the hands of my eldest son !
- Laser 150 up front - fabulous as usual
-stunning in the air with no vices except for getting used to the narrow u/c (just like the full size)
- spent some time on weathering but not on the cockpit as yet. Chalks plus KK clear coat - cheers Mike !

I have finally decided that my next airplane will be a scale jet with turbine power - gota have one of these before senility finally overcomes me - watch this space.
Best regards to you all - the new website looks cool !

Nice looking 109, but only to be expected from the hands of the master builder.

Tony
It looks fanatastic - I am curious did you go with the standard throws as per the Manual?

Hi Tony,
Glad to hear you are keeping well; the ME109 looks the business
. Hope your Zero and Extra are also still going strong.
I always suspected the EDFs you built would lead onto something more ambitious - please keep us in the picture with the Jet build. If you fancy a trip back to the UK you could always pop along to one of Wren Turbines open days and assemble/test your own.
All the best,
Russ

Hi Guys, nice to hear from you.
Mike, the control throws were set as per the manual with -15% low rate available which I now use as standard. I eventually installed the Laser inverted even though this necessitated finding a square tank (Graupner) which would fit at the bottom of the nose section and get the tank center line just below the spray bar. Result - just perfect running over the whole throttle range at any attitude with Massy Fergusson torque - I love my Lasers for this.
Russ, I am happy to report that the Zero and the Extra are alive and well - I flew the Extra as a warm up last weekend before the maiden flights of the 109.
I used this weekend of crap weather the carry out a Spring maintenance programme on all my fleet i.e Zero, Extra, Miss Vintage, mini CAP232, F-20 and BAE Hawk (rebuilt after a cheapie servo glitched and caused high speed landing which saw the LiPo take out the whole nose section.)
Russ, I really enjoy my EDFs, especially the West Wings Hawk. With the new Platinum Lipos from Aurorra, the performance is stunning. Incidently, my 2-3 year old Red Label Lipos from Aurorra are still in great shape - this is one supplier you can really count on. However, I think that turbines are now really practical and I have my eye on a Wren 44 Gold or Wren 70 autostart. At this end of the scale at least the models don't cost as much as a small car !
Attached is another pic which I had attempted to attach the last time without success - better luck this time !
Looks like you lucky fellows just had a fantastic flying weekend.
Cheers
