I wonder if it would be worth us as a club writing a letter to Horizon UK, CC BMFA, summarising the above. There clearly is an issue here, although we cannot say for certain whether it is a design fault with the AR500s, or a certain type of interference they do not like. Either way it would be good to get this on record.

Phil, if I pen something would you be willing to email it in the Club Secretary name?

Russ I think this is a good idea. From what other users on the web have said HH have not accepted there might be a possible problem with this receiver.

Horizon are pretty good with customer service but getting them to acknowledge a design fault with a reciever and effecting a recall is just not going to happen. Although if everyone adopted the approach of writing in they would have to take action.

Horizon recently released the mCPx micro CP heli which has had an issue with the rotor blade pivot / retainer bearings failing causing the rotor blade to fly off in use. Being a safety related issue I would have expected them to recall the heli straight away. Instead they have waitied for hundreds (if not thousands) of failures accross the globe before offering a re-designed head to existing owners.

I tried not to comment but........................

There is no way they are going to admit any problems with this RX,
They still have there heads in the sand over the dx8's, range problem,
There are heli forums talking about that fault to no avail,
Don't wast your time, I Emailed them and got no reply with regard to the DX8.
I Just changed my radio gear  for trouble free flying which is costly but worth it,
you need to be able to trust the gear you are using will not kill someone
