Question,

Do you think a "Futaba R617FS 7-Channel 2.4GHz FASST Receiver" will be ok to use in a trex 700 3G?

Graham,
I've got these on my Extra and Edge and they work just fine, never had so much as a glitch. Can't imagine why they wouldn't be fine for your heli but then again heli's ain't my speciality.

I use the 617's in my planes and they are fine.

I use the R6108HS' in my nitro helicopters because they have high speed mode and I need the extra channel for my remote glows.

There is a big price difference for the 6108 though, it costs twice as much as the 617

Hi all,

As some may know I have been having some trouble with the Align 3G FBL unit.
 (basically It's knackered)

So today I have bought a BeastX , now I know all you FBL Guy's are going to say good, nice,
I will love It .

But hold up there one root-in toot-in minute
I have to set it up!
Now I am not as dumb as I make out
But who ever wrote the manual need's shooting I can't make sense of it,
I have made a new model memory with no swash mix, no subtrim, no expo,
(All of which I might add seem's such a waist when you know how much more capable the T8FG is over most radio's)
I have pluged in the lead's to what I think are the right channel's but that's it 
The heads not moving right and I don't know which receiver type set-up or custom channel set-up to choose.

Hi Graham,

Unless your receiver is the multiplexed type - where all the servo channels come out of one wire, set the Receiver type to standard - that should be the default.

You then want to set your swash to 120 degrees on the BEASTX. Then, look at the diagram in the BEASTX manual for the 120 degree swash and plug the elevator / pitch/ aileron into the channels on the BEASTX shown on the diagram for that swash type.

Set the swash servo direction (menu point J)  - selecting one of the 4 options til your swash plate moves up and down when you move the throttle stick up and down. Then check elevator and aileron. If they dont work in the right direction then u may need to reverse one or two of your servos.
EDIT - you reverse the servos using your transmitter/

Once you get the swash plate set up it should be pretty easy. There are a few of us using the BEASTX so if you still have problems bring it to the patch, get the table out and I'll be happy to help you. Not now though - its a bit dark
